Tour Overview
Snorkeling & Exploring Turtle Island - Con Dao
Half day private sea journey through Con Dao pier - Turtle Island (Hon Bay Canh) - mangrove forest - Con Son Bay. The route is shaped around clear pacing, trusted local guidance and enough flexibility to adjust hotels, transfers and touring style before quote.
This half day sea tour (4 hours) explores Con Dao — a remote archipelago of 16 islands off Vietnam's southern coast, ringed by coral reefs and protected as a national park. Once a notorious prison colony, today it is one of the country's most pristine and tranquil destinations. The route takes in Turtle Island (Hon Bay Canh), Mangrove forest and Con Son Bay at a calm, well-paced rhythm.
You travel with an English/Vietnamese-speaking guide in a small group (maximum 15 people), departing from the Happy Island Tour station or with hotel pickup. The day is shaped around the island’s nature rather than a rigid schedule.
Why this route works
Con Dao rewards travellers who want raw nature and quiet over crowds — its reefs, turtle beaches and jungle are protected and lightly visited. Con Dao is one of the few places in Vietnam where you can ethically watch sea turtles nest and release hatchlings, guided by conservation rangers. The operator follows strict no-single-use-plastic and reef-safe rules.
What you will experience
- Snorkel two of Con Dao's best coral reefs in crystal-clear water
- Explore the peaceful mangrove ecosystem on Turtle Island
- Learn about Con Dao's sea-turtle conservation work
- Relax on a quiet island beach with a light meal

Genuinely one of the best travel days of my life
We did the cycling and cooking session as a couple celebrating our anniversary. The guide was warm, the pace was relaxed, and the farmhouse lunch felt completely authentic. Nothing felt staged.

The herbal session at the end was unexpected magic
I booked this mostly for the cycling but the herbal wellness close at the end completely surprised me. Sitting outside with the foot soak after the ride, looking out over the garden — it's the kind of moment you don't plan for.

Private and personal — felt nothing like a group tour
As a Vietnamese-Canadian I was a bit nervous this would feel touristy. It didn't at all. The family we cooked with was genuinely hospitable, the herbs were real, and the guide spoke about the village with obvious pride.

Seamless logistics, beautiful setting
The van pickup was on time, the bikes were in great condition, and every transition between activities felt smooth. My group of four had very different fitness levels and the guide adjusted the pace.

Worth every cent — and then some
I compared four different Hanoi day tours before booking this one. The itinerary description was the most honest and specific I found. What was promised is exactly what was delivered.

Took my parents — best decision of the trip
My parents are in their 60s and I wasn't sure about the cycling. Completely unnecessary worry — the lanes are flat and gentle and the guide made my mom feel completely at ease.
