TOUR ITINERARY:
VISIT THE COMMAND HEADQUARTERS OF THE DIEN BIEN PHU CAMPAIGN – THE RELIC CLUSTER IN THE DIEN BIEN VALLEY (LUNCH INCLUDED)
MORNING:
08:00: Guests gather at the meeting point. A vehicle picks up the group and sets off to visit
Muong Phang commune, where the Command Headquarters of the Dien Bien Phu Campaign was based from 31 January 1954 to 15 May 1954. It was here that, thanks to the brilliance of General Vo Nguyen Giap and the support of the Chinese military advisers, set amid old-growth forest with a high vantage point (the Observation Post) and the sound decisions of the Commander-in-Chief, General Giap led the Vietnam People’s Army to its glorious victory in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign of 1953-1954.
Along the way, stop at the top of the pass to admire the Dien Bien valley and the Ta Leng scenery, with terraced rice fields cascading from the peaks down to the valley floor.
Continue the journey. On arrival at Muong Phang, your guide leads the group on a walk through the forest to visit several relic sites within the old-growth woods: the bunker and communication hut of the Vietnam People’s Army signals unit; the working hut of General Vo Nguyen Giap; the tunnel cut through the mountain; and the working quarters of the Politburo and the Chinese Military Advisory Group…
After visiting all the relic sites, guests make their way out and stop to explore and take souvenir photos at the Victory Monument in Muong Phang Park.
12:00: Guests transfer to the Che Can cultural tourism village (Muong Phang commune) to rest and enjoy a traditional lunch of the Thai ethnic community; discover the architecture of the ancient Thai living space and the cultural identity, customs and traditions of the local villagers.
AFTERNOON:
The vehicle takes the group back to the city.
