- Breakfast: Start your day with breakfast at the hotel before traveling to Tam Coc, famously known as the "Halong Bay on land" and featured in the French movie “Indochina.”
- Boat Trip: Upon arrival at the pier, embark on a private sampan boat for a 90-minute cruise along the Ngo Dong River. Pass through three caves and take in the stunning landscapes interwoven with small communities, rice fields, cemeteries, and temples.
Mid-Morning:
- Bich Dong Pagoda: Continue to Bich Dong, a charming pagoda built in the 15th century, typical of the Red River Delta countryside. Cross a stone bridge to Chua Ha, then climb over 100 steps to Chua Trung, the cave pagoda with unique clay statues.
- Hike up further to Chua Thuong, where you can learn about Buddhism and enjoy breathtaking countryside views.
Midday:
Lunch:
- Savor local cuisine in Tam Coc before heading to Hoa Lu.
Afternoon:
- Hoa Lu Ancient Capital: Travel to Hoa Lu, the former capital of Vietnam from the 10th to the 11th century. Surrounded by limestone mountains and rivers, the citadel offers an amazing picturesque setting.
- Visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009), who played crucial roles in gaining Vietnam’s independence from China. Both temples were built in the 17th century, symbolizing deep respect for the kings' contributions.
Late Afternoon:
- Return to Hanoi: Head back to Hanoi, soaking in the scenic beauty as you traverse the Red River Delta. Enjoy plenty of photo opportunities amidst the lush rice fields and tranquil countryside along the way.
- Note: Wear comfortable clothing and make sure to cover your knees and shoulders when entering pagodas.
