Day 2 :
Hue

Boat trip, visiting Ming Mang's tomb, excursion to Thuy Bieu village, Thien Mu pagoda & Hue citadel

In the morning, move from your hotel to the Emperor Minh Mang's tomb. It was a symphony of stone and flora, where imperial religious edifices stand in respectful accord with the surrounding wilderness. Although Minh Mang envisioned the tomb during his rule (1820-1840), his successor, Thieu Tri, brought the emperor's vision to life. The construction required the dedication of a staggering ten thousand workers and artisans.

Next, take a boat ride along the Huong River, also known as the Perfume River, to Thuy Bieu Village, soaking in the stunning landscapes on either side. Here, you can ride a bicycle and meander through the village bathed in the cool shade of these fragrant citrus trees. Take a moment to inhale the delightful perfume of the grapefruit and admire the sight of freshly harvested straw. The tranquility of this village seeps into your soul with every turn of the pedal.

After having lunch, we'll take a scenic drive to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue's oldest, dating back to 1601. This majestic pagoda boasts an iconic octagonal tower and offers stunning views of the Perfume River. It's considered the city's spiritual heart.

We'll return to the city center to explore Hue's crown jewel - the Imperial Citadel. Inspired by the fortifications of Vauban, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is the sole remaining symbol of Vietnam's imperial past. The Citadel is divided into three parts: Kinh Thanh (the Capital City), Hoang Thanh (the Imperial City), and Cam Thanh (the Forbidden City). Its walls lie architectural gems like the flag tower, the South Gate, the Palace of Supreme Harmony, the Dynasty Temple area, and the residential quarters.

Back to your hotel in the late afternoon. In the evening, free to explore the city.

Travel to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van pass, visiting Cham sculpture museum, Tra Que eco farm

Your journey starts from your hotel at 7:30 in Hoi An, traveling via Mandarin Road and the Sea Cloud Pass (Hai Van Pass). Stop at the summit to marvel at the breathtaking views of the ocean and Da Nang city. Upon reaching Da Nang, visit the Cham Museum, home to the world's most important collection of Cham cultural artifacts. Next, take a stroll on My Khe beach, where you can admire the impressive Goodness of Mercy statues at Linh Ung Pagoda and snap photos of local fishermen Continue your drive along the coastline to Hoi An ancient town.

Head to Tra Que, a village famous for its aromatic herbs, mint, and basil. Walk through the village fields, meet the farmers, and observe their vegetable gardening techniques. Check into your hotel in the late afternoon and enjoy some free time.

Day 4 :
Hoi An

In Hoi An, the first destination is Cam Pho, a very old house built in the shape of a Chinese character. It reflects the town's history of trade and cultural exchange. From there, you'll walk to the famous Japanese Covered Bridge, a 17th-century landmark connecting the Japanese and Chinese quarters.

Enjoy a short walk to Hoi An's iconic Chua Cau, or Japanese Covered Bridge. Built in the 17th century, this bridge was designed to link the Japanese and Chinese communities. Its original architecture has been preserved with great care for the past four centuries.

Next, explore the Quan Thang ancient house, one of Hoi An's best-preserved historic residences. Renowned for its exquisite architecture and intricate carvings by artisans from the famous Kim Bong carpentry village, the house offers a captivating glimpse into the daily life of a traditional Hoi An family.

Proceed to Phuc Kien, or the Fujian Assembly Hall. Established in the 17th century, this hall was a gathering place for Fujian residents, traders, and visitors, and it also serves as a religious site dedicated to the deity Thien Hau. Admire the vibrant fountains, ornate gates, and beautifully carved dragons that adorn the main hall.

After a lunch break, prepare for a delightful lantern-making class! Your guide will share the history and significance of the lanterns that illuminate Hoi An every night. Choose your design and create your own lantern with guided assistance, making for an unforgettable experience. You'll also have the chance to purchase additional lanterns as souvenirs.

The adventure continues with a boat trip to Thanh Ha village, known for its pottery-making tradition dating back to the 16th century. Day 5 :
Hoi An

Get ready for a day at Hai Cafe (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc) - transportation to the meeting point is up to you, adventurer! After a quick rundown, we'll cycle towards Tra Que village. You should lush vegetable gardens bursting with life, tended to by villagers using traditional methods. Here, you'll get to choose the freshest coriander and mint for your upcoming culinary creations.
Head to a local market with a list of spices you need and select local ingredients such as star anise, cardamom, sesame rice papers, and banana flowers.Once you've collected these items, you'll return to Red Bridge Restaurant for a brief break before your cooking class commences. Under the guidance of Red Bridge's chefs, you'll learn to prepare traditional Vietnamese cuisine, including four famous dishes such as the beloved Pho. After the cooking session, you'll enjoy tasting the dishes you've cooked. Later, you'll embark on a relaxing half-hour cruise along the Thu Bon River, arriving back in Hoi An town center around 2:30 PM. You'll then have the rest of the day to explore the historic town or unwind at the beach.
