Day 2 :
Hoi An

Hoi An city tour: Cam Pho, Chua Cau, Quan Thang ancient house, Phuc Kien assembly hall, Tra Que village

At 9:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel for an excursion to Hoi An, was once a prominent Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to the 19th century, and its Old Town remains remarkably preserved. The town's historic buildings, religious sites, daily commerce, and the authentic lifestyle of its locals vividly display the cultural exchanges that have enriched its heritage over the centuries.

Our first stop is Cam Pho, one of the oldest communal houses in Hoi An. Constructed in the shape of a Chinese character symbolizing a place for worship and trade, it served as a hub for cultural exchanges between the local community and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Take a leisurely stroll to Hoi An's famous landmark, the Chua Cau, or Japanese Covered Bridge. Built in the 17th century, it was strategically constructed to connect the Japanese quarter with the Chinese neighborhoods. The bridge's unique architectural style has been meticulously maintained for more than four centuries, symbolizing Hoi An's rich cultural interchange and historical importance.

Continue your stroll through the town, immersing yourself in local life, and make a stop at Quan Thang ancient house. Renowned as one of the most authentic old houses in Hoi An, it showcases vibrant architecture and sculptures crafted by artisans from the renowned Kim Bong carpentry village in a traditional Oriental style. The house provides a fascinating glimpse into the daily life of a Hoi An family.

Enrich your tour by visiting a gathering place for residents, traders, and visitors from Fujian, China called Phuc Kien, or Fujian Assembly Hall since the 17th century. It later transformed into a religious site honoring Thien Hau. Step inside and be captivated by the vibrant courtyard fountains, the intricately decorated entry gates, and the awe-inspiring carved dragons in the main hall. It's a true immersion into Hoi An's rich history and cultural blend.

Spend the afternoon exploring Tra Que, a charming farming village known for its fragrant herbs. Here, you'll find unique mint and basil varieties boasting a more intense flavor and smaller leaves. Immerse yourself in the village's history through a captivating introduction, and learn about their traditional methods of vegetable cultivation. Discover how these very vegetables play a role in Vietnamese medicine! This is also your chance to meet the friendly locals and capture some memorable photos with them.

In the late afternoon, head back to Hoi An town. The rest of the evening is yours to explore at your leisure.
