Day 2 :
Hoi An

Exploring Hoi An by cycling & walking, Tra Que organic herbs village, Cam Thanh village

Embark on a historical adventure at 8:00 AM as you're collected from your hotel and whisked away to Hoi An's charming old town. Begin your exploration at Cam Pho Communal House, a living relic of the town's vibrant communal history. It designed in the shape of a Chinese character representing the country. This site reflects the historical trade and cultural exchanges between the local community and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Afterward, take a leisurely walk to the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge (Chua Cau) of Hoi An, constructed in the 17th century to connect the Japanese quarter with the Chinese neighborhoods. The bridge has preserved its original style for the last 400 years.
Experience the life of the town by strolling to Quan Thang ancient house, one of the most authentic old houses in Hoi An, featuring lively and refined architecture and sculptures created by craftsmen from the famous Kim Bong carpentry village in the oriental style. The house offers insight into the daily life of a Hoi An family.
Your next stop is the Phuc Kien or Fujian Assembly Hall, followed by a ferry ride across the Thu Bon river to Kim Bong village. While on the boat, breathe in the fresh air and take in the serene landscapes on both riverbanks.
Known for its wood carving, this village has a rich history. Initially, artisans inherited techniques from northern Vietnam. Over time, through business exchanges, they adopted Chinese and Japanese sculptural methods, developing their unique style. Bike around the village to understand their daily life and visit a carpenter's workshop to admire their skills. You can also purchase wood products as souvenirs.
Cycle along the trails to Tra Nhieu village, experiencing the countryside of central Vietnam. Meet locals like Ms. Duoc, who weaves mats, Mr. Kha, who makes bamboo sampan baskets, and Mr. Huynh Ri, who operates a craft shipyard. You'll be surrounded by palm and rice fields, water buffaloes, and farmers at work.
From Tra Nhieu, take a boat trip on the Thu Bon River to Cam Thanh village, with views of fishing farms and water palm trees along the way.
In Cam Thanh, rest at the house of Mr. Phong, a fisherman. Enjoy green tea and a foot massage with medicinal herbs from his family garden. Gather vegetables and herbs from Tra Que village and participate in a cooking class, making dishes such as crispy pancakes (with meat, shrimp, and beansprouts), Hoi An spring rolls, Tam Huu, and grilled fish in banana leaves. Relish the dishes you’ve created.
In the afternoon, unwind by taking a small round bamboo sampan basket boat through the water palm tree forest.
Transfer back to your hotel at the day's end.
