Hoi An

Hoi An city tour: Cam Pho, Chua Cau, Quan Thang ancient house, Phuc Kien assembly hall, Tra Que village

9:00 AM: Depart from your hotel for an excursion to Hoi An. Once a prominent Southeast Asian trading port from the 15th to the 19th century, Hoi An's Old Town remains well-preserved. The cultural exchanges of the past are evident in the historic buildings, religious practices, daily business, and the authentic lifestyle of the local residents.
The first stop is Cam Pho, one of Hoi An's oldest communal houses. Constructed in the shape of the Chinese character for "country," it served as a place of worship, trade, and cultural exchange between the locals and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Take a leisurely walk to the symbol of Hoi An, the Chua Cau or Japanese Covered Bridge. This 17th-century bridge was built to connect the Japanese and Chinese neighborhoods, and its original style has been meticulously maintained for 400 years.
Continue your walk through the town, absorbing the local ambiance, and stop at the Quan Thang ancient house, one of the most authentic old houses in Hoi An. Featuring detailed architecture and sculptures created by craftsmen from the renowned Kim Bong carpentry village, the house offers a view into the daily life of a Hoi An family.
Add depth to your tour by visiting the Phuc Kien (Fujian) Assembly Hall, built in the 17th century. This hall served as a meeting place for residents, traders, and visitors from Fujian, China, and is also a religious site dedicated to the deity Thien Hau. Enjoy the colorful fountains in the courtyard, the ornate gates, and the beautifully carved dragons in the main hall.

In the afternoon, travel to Tra Que farming village, known for its aromatic herbs, mint, and basil. These herbs are smaller in size but rich in flavor. Discover the village’s history, vegetable cultivation, and the use of vegetables in traditional Vietnamese medicine. This is also a wonderful opportunity to meet and take pictures with local people.

After the excursion, head back to the city, where you can explore the town or relax on the beach.
