Day 2 :
Hue

Boat trip, visit to Minh Mang's tomb, excursion to Thuy Bieu village, Thien Mu pagoda & Hue citadel

At 8:00 AM, depart from your hotel to visit Emperor Minh Mang's tomb, a remarkable architectural marvel that seamlessly blends natural elements with imperial religious structures. Planned during Minh Mang’s reign (1820–1840) and constructed by his successor Thieu Tri, involving the labor of ten thousand workers and artisans.

Next, embark on a scenic boat journey along the Perfume River to Thuy Bieu Village, renowned for its serene landscapes. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely bicycle ride through the village shaded by fragrant grapefruit trees, experiencing the tranquil ambiance and interacting with local villagers working in gardens and fields. Visit a temple dedicated to the village protector and explore a centuries-old traditional garden house, offering excellent opportunities for photographs.

Lunch will be served in the village. In the afternoon, continue to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue's oldest pagodas dating back to 1601, famous for its elegant octagonal tower and picturesque views of the Perfume River.

Later, return to the city center to explore Hue Citadel, the historic heart of the former imperial capital of Vietnam. Inspired by Vauban's fortifications, the citadel comprises Kinh Thanh (the Capital City), Hoang Thanh (the Imperial City), and Cam Thanh (the Forbidden City). Key landmarks include the flag tower, South Gate, Palace of Supreme Harmony, Dynasty temple area, and residential quarters.

After exploring the citadel, return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Enjoy the evening at your leisure to further discover Hue's charm.

Travel to Hoi An via scenic Hai Van pass, visiting Cham sculpture museum, Hoi An half-day city tour

At 7:30 AM, depart from your hotel in Hoi An and travel along the Mandarin Road and Sea Cloud Pass (Hai Van Pass). Pause at the pass to take in the stunning views of the ocean and Da Nang city. Leisurely walk to Chua Cau, the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge dating back to the 17th century, connecting the Japanese quarter with Chinese neighborhoods, its original design meticulously maintained for four centuries.

Continue to Quan Thang ancient house, an authentic example of Hoi An's architecture and daily life, crafted by artisans from the renowned Kim Bong carpentry village. Explore its intricate oriental-style sculptures and architecture.

Conclude your tour at Phuc Kien (Fujian) Assembly Hall, established in the 17th century as a gathering place for Fujian residents, traders, and visitors, and a religious site honoring Thien Hau deity. Admire the vibrant courtyard fountains, ornate gates, and intricately carved dragons in the main hall.

Day 4 :
Hoi An

Cycling to visit Kim Bong, Tra Nhieu, boat trip to Cam Thanh village, interacting with local people

Gather at your hotel and begin a cycling journey to Hoi An pier, where you'll board a ferry crossing the Thu Bon River to Kim Bong village. Enjoy the refreshing air and picturesque views along the river during the boat ride.

Kim Bong village is renowned for its wood carving tradition, initially influenced by northern Vietnamese techniques and later enriched through cultural exchanges with Chinese and Japanese artisans, resulting in a distinctive local style. Explore the village by bike to observe daily life and visit a carpenter's workshop to admire their craftsmanship. You'll have the opportunity to purchase handmade wood products as souvenirs.

Continue cycling along scenic trails through rice paddies and bamboo bridges beside the river, heading towards Tra Nhieu village. Experience the tranquil countryside of central Vietnam, encountering local artisans like Ms. Duoc weaving mats, Mr. Kha crafting bamboo sampan baskets, and Mr. Huynh Ri showcasing his craftsmanship. The landscape features palm and rice fields, buffaloes grazing, and farmers tending to their fields.

From Tra Nhieu, embark on a boat trip along the Thu Bon River to Cam Thanh village. Admire the fishing farms and water palm trees dotting the landscape along the way.
