8:00 AM: Start your day with a pickup from your hotel and a drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a remarkable relic from the Vietnam War. Delve into this extensive underground network, a testament to the Viet Cong’s resilience, which spans over 250 kilometers and was painstakingly dug by hand. Explore the tunnels and visit the Ben Duoc Memorial Temple nearby, a poignant site dedicated to the Vietnamese lives lost, often bypassed by mainstream tourists.

Return to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon for a visit to the Independence Palace. This historic five-story building, once the seat of the South Vietnamese presidency, retains its 1960s and 1970s decor. Explore its opulent rooms, the bunker basement, and view the iconic North Vietnamese tank that famously breached the palace gates in 1975.

Next, take a leisurely walk to the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, an elegant example of French colonial architecture built between 1863 and 1880. The cathedral’s stunning design and peaceful surroundings offer a beautiful contrast to the bustling city.

Just a short stroll away is the Saigon Central Post Office, another masterpiece designed by Gustave Eiffel. This functioning post office, with its ornate interior and historical charm, stands as a testament to colonial architectural excellence.

Finish your day at Ben Thanh Market, a lively marketplace in operation since 1870. Beyond its role in daily life for locals, it’s a fantastic spot to pick up unique souvenirs and sample a variety of flavorful Vietnamese street foods.

Traveling to Mekong, enjoy boat trip, biking, interacting with local people in Ben Tre

At 8:00 AM, move to Ben Tre, a picturesque area in the Mekong Delta known for its coconut candy. Upon arriving at Hung Vuong Pier, you’ll embark on a boat ride along the Ben Tre River to explore local life. Continue your journey on a canal to Nhon Thanh Village, where you'll have the chance to sample fresh fruits.

Explore the village paths by bike (or Tuk Tuk), where you'll pass by coconut groves, rice fields, and vegetable gardens. A delicious lunch of elephant ear fish will be served in the village. Afterward, a brief walk will give you a deeper insight into local life. The excursion ends with a relaxing boat ride on a narrow canal shaded by wild palm trees. You'll return to Saigon later in the afternoon.

Note: International flights require you to be at the airport 3 hours and domestic is 2 hours before departure time.

In the rush hour (07:00 – 08:30 AM and 16:30 – 18:30 PM), it takes around 1 hour from city center to Tan Son Nhat airport.
