Saigon City full day tour to visit Independence palace, Walking tour, War Remnant museum, Ben Thanh market

9:00 AM: Start your day with a visit to the historic Independence Palace, once the seat of the South Vietnamese presidency. This five-story architectural gem, with its retro 1960s and 70s decor, offers a glimpse into the past. Explore its fascinating rooms, including the bunker basement, and see the iconic North Vietnamese tank that famously breached the palace in 1975.

From there, take a relaxed stroll to the Notre Dame Cathedral of Saigon, a striking example of French colonial architecture built between 1863 and 1880. Its grand design and serene ambiance make it a must-see landmark.

A short walk away, you’ll encounter Nguyen Hue Walking Street, where you’ll find the majestic Saigon Central Post Office. Designed by the renowned architect Gustave Eiffel, this active post office dazzles with its elegant interior and historic charm.

Take some time to enjoy lunch or a refreshing drink on your own before diving into the afternoon’s exploration. Head to the Conflict Leftover Gallery, one of Ho Chi Minh City's most compelling attractions. The exhibits offer a profound and often stark perspective on the Vietnam War, challenging and enriching your understanding of this pivotal era.
As evening falls, make your way to Ben Thanh Market, a vibrant hub of activity since 1870. Beyond catering to local daily needs, the market is a treasure trove for affordable souvenirs and a fantastic spot to sample delicious Vietnamese street food.

Return to your accommodation with the evening free to either further explore the city or unwind after a day of discovery.

Special excursion to Cu Chi. Flying to Phu Quoc

8:00 AM: Leave from your lodging to visit the most striking spot throughout the entire existence of the Vietnam War, the Cu Chi Passages.

The Viet Cong waged a resistance war against American troops in Cu Chi, a real underground city comprised of a vast network of tunnels stretching over 250 kilometers. Using only pickaxes and shovels, all of the tunnels were dug over a 20-year period. The tour includes special tunnel passageways. You can also go to the nearby Ben Duoc memorial temple, which was built in 1993 to honor the Vietnamese who were killed at Cu Chi and is much less popular with tourists.

Take a flight to Phu Quoc Island in the afternoon for a day at the beach. After receiving a warm welcome at the Phu Quoc airport, enjoy a 30-minute island drive and take in the scenery.

Arrive at your hotel, check in, and take advantage of your beach getaway.
