Boat trip, visiting Minh Mang's tomb, excursion to Thuy Bieu village, Thien Mu pagoda & Hue citadel
Transfer from your hotel at 8:00 AM to explore Emperor Minh Mang's tomb, an architectural masterpiece that elegantly blends natural elements with imperial religious motifs. Originally commissioned during Minh Mang's reign (1820–40), the tomb was completed by his successor, Thieu Tri, with the dedicated craftsmanship of ten thousand workers and artisans.
Following this, embark on a scenic boat ride along the Huong River (Perfume River) to Thuy Bieu Village, renowned for its picturesque landscapes on either side. Arrive at Thuy Bieu after an hour's journey, celebrated for its divine grapefruit orchards. Cycle leisurely through the village, shaded by fragrant grapefruit trees and the aroma of harvested straw, immersing yourself in its tranquil ambiance. Explore a centuries-old temple dedicated to the village guardian, nestled within a traditional garden house. Capture stunning photographs and interact with local villagers cultivating their gardens and vegetable fields—an enriching experience not to be missed.
Lunch will be served at the village. Later in the afternoon, we will drive to Thien Mu Pagoda, one of Hue's oldest pagodas dating back to 1601. It stands as a spiritual centerpiece of the city, famous for its grand octagonal tower and scenic vistas overlooking the Perfume River.
Following this visit, we will return to the city center to explore Hue Citadel, the last vestige of Vietnam's imperial capital. Modeled after Vauban's fortifications, the citadel is divided into Kinh Thanh (the Capital city), Hoang Thanh (the Imperial city), and Cam Thanh (the Forbidden City). This area encompasses Hue's most magnificent sites, including the flag tower, South gate, Palace of Supreme Harmony, Dynasty temple area, and settlement area.
Your hotel return will be in the late afternoon, leaving you free to discover the city at night.
