Welcome to Hanoi, enjoy a walking tour in the old quarter

Landing at the Noi Bai airport, you are welcomed by professional tour guide and driver at the pickup lobby. Enjoy 45-minute driving to the city center (Hanoi Old Quarter) with city's briefing information about the most visited spots, culture, traffic and cuisine....Arrive in your hotel, check in and have a rest.

Continue the day, tour guide will escort you walking around the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake to the Opera House, stopping at the statue of King Ly Thai To and Vietnamese Government Guest House, Sofitel Metropole Hanoi. Walk back to the Old town, visit some main streets before returning to your hotel.

Hanoi

Visiting the city's highlights, traveling to French Quarter, Ho Chi Minh complex, leisurely walk by the West Lake

9:00 AM: Your tour begins with a visit to the Temple of Literature, built in the 11th century during the Ly dynasty for honoring Confucius and educating royal children. Walk through the serene gardens and see Khue Van Cac, a city symbol. Explore the UNESCO-listed "stone steles" featuring notable students and visit Quoc Tu Giam, Vietnam’s inaugural national university.

Following this, visit one of Hanoi’s museums of your choice, such as the National History Museum, Hoa Lo Prison, the Museum of Ethnology, or the Fine Arts Museum. Enjoy a break for lunch or a drink at your own expense.

In the afternoon, visit the French Quarter, known for its “little Paris” charm with tree-lined streets, government offices, and a large square. View Ho Chi Minh’s mausoleum from the exterior, then take a leisurely stroll in the botanical gardens to see the Presidential Palace and Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Explore the unique One-Pillar Pagoda, a key symbol of the city, with the visit taking between 1 to 2 hours depending on the group size.

Proceed to Quan Thanh Temple, one of Hanoi’s four principal temples, dating back to the 11th century under King Ly Thai To and dedicated to the Taoist deity Tran Vu. Enjoy a scenic walk along the road by West Lake and visit Tran Quoc Pagoda, established in the 6th century during Emperor Ly Nam De’s reign.

End your day with a traditional water puppet show, a unique Vietnamese art form from the 11th century, depicting daily life and cultural traditions through puppetry on water and traditional music.

You'll pass through three caves and enjoy a captivating landscape with small villages, rice fields, cemeteries, and temples.

Next, visit Bich Dong, a traditional pagoda from the 15th century in the Red River Delta. Walk across a stone bridge to Chua Ha, then ascend over 100 steps to Chua Trung, a cave pagoda with distinctive clay statues. Continue your hike to Chua Thuong, where you can learn about Buddhism and appreciate the stunning countryside views.

Savor local cuisine in Tam Coc, then head to Hoa Lu, the former Vietnamese capital from the 10th to 11th centuries. The citadel, surrounded by majestic limestone mountains and rivers, provides a picturesque backdrop.

In Hoa Lu, visit the temples dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang of the Dinh Dynasty (968-980) and Emperor Le Dai Hanh of the Le Dynasty (980-1009), who played crucial roles in Vietnam's quest for independence. The temples, built in the 17th century, reflect the deep respect for these historical figures.

11:30 AM: Disembark at Tuan Chau Marina and say goodbye to the crew.

A driver will meet you at the Cruise Waiting Lounge for your transfer to Hanoi (additional fees may apply). The drive takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours, with an optional restroom stop. You will be dropped off at your hotel in Hanoi’s Old Quarter or at our Shuttle Bus stop.

Hoi An

Full day to visit Hoi An city tour

9:00 AM: Begin your journey with a pickup from your hotel for a day trip to Hoi An. This ancient port town, once a bustling Southeast Asian trading hub from the 15th to the 19th centuries, boasts a well-preserved Old Town that showcases the rich cultural exchanges of the era.

Your first stop is Cam Pho, one of the oldest communal houses in Hoi An. Built in the shape of the Chinese character for "country," this house was central to local worship and trade, reflecting the cultural interplay between local residents and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Next, take a leisurely stroll to Chua Cau, the Japanese Covered Bridge. Constructed in the 17th century, this iconic structure connects the Japanese quarter with the Chinese neighborhoods and has been meticulously preserved for over 400 years.

Continue your walk through the town to visit the Quan Thang ancient house. This traditional residence offers a glimpse into Hoi An’s past with its exquisite architecture and detailed carvings created by skilled artisans from Kim Bong village, showcasing the daily life of a Hoi An family.

Next, explore the Phuc Kien or Fujian Assembly Hall, established in the 17th century as a meeting place for people from Fujian, China. It also serves as a religious site dedicated to the deity Thien Hau. Admire the vibrant fountains, intricately designed gates, and beautifully carved dragons within the assembly hall.

In the afternoon, head to Tra Que farming village, renowned for its aromatic herbs like mint and basil. Discover the village’s history, the process of vegetable cultivation, and the use of these vegetables in traditional Vietnamese medicine. You’ll have the chance to interact with and photograph local farmers.
