Day 8 :
Hoi An

Discovering Hoi An rural by cycling and city walking tour

8:00 AM: Hoi An town center pickup from the hotel. One of Hoi An's oldest community houses, Cam Pho, is where we start. Its construction in the form of a Chinese character designates it as a nation dedicated to religion, trade, and cross-cultural interaction between the local community and Chinese and Japanese traders.

Take a leisurely stroll to the Chua Cau, also known as the Japanese Covered Bridge, which is the icon of Hoi An. It was constructed in the 17th century to connect the Chinese quarters with the Japanese section. The previous four centuries have seen a meticulous preservation of the bridge's original architecture.

Walking through the town will allow you to get a true sense of the local way of life. Quan Thang Ancient House is one of Hoi An's most genuine old buildings, with striking architecture and exquisite sculptures created by master carpenters from the renowned Kim Bong carpentry hamlet in an oriental style. A clear view of the Hoi An family's daily life is provided by the residence.

The Phuc Kien or Fujian Assembly Hall is the next destination before boarding the boat to travel to Kim Bong hamlet across the Thu Bon river. You may take in the gorgeous scenery on both banks of the river and relax in the cool, fresh air while on the boat.

The wood carving in this village has long been well-known. Originally, the northern Vietnamese were the source of the craftsmen' methods. They were later able to effectively absorb the techniques of Chinese and Japanese sculptors and develop their own style via commercial interchange. Tour the town on a bike to get a sense of how people live there every day and stop by a carpenter's shop to see how talented they are. Certain wood pieces are available for purchase as keepsakes.

Ride your bike on the trails until you reach Tra Nhieu village. Take in the scenery of the central regions of Vietnam. Some previously unarranged contacts will be possible thanks to the trip, including those with Mr. Kha, who makes baskets out of bamboo sampans, Ms. Duoc, who weaves mats, and Mr. Huynh Ri, who has a shipbuilding business. Along the route, you will be surrounded by a rural scene with rice and palm farms, buffaloes, and farmers working in the fields.

Take a boat ride on the Thu Bon River from Tra Nhieu to Cam Thanh hamlet. You will be accompanied on your journey by the scenery of water palm trees and fishing farms.

When you arrive at Cam Thanh, relax for a little while in the fisherman Mr. Phong's home while sipping green tea and getting your feet massaged with healing herbs grown in the family garden. Next, prepare the herbs and vegetables from Tra Que village. Practice making some of the following dishes: grilled fish wrapped in banana leaves, Hoi An spring rolls, shrimp spring rolls, and crispy pancakes. Savor the food that you prepared.

Take a tiny, circular bamboo sampan basket boat to the water palm tree grove in the afternoon. It is a peaceful moment following hours of cycling.

At the conclusion of the day, return to the hotel.

My Son, which is 40 kilometers from Hoi An Town, was formerly the principal ecclesiastical and intellectual hub of the Cham kingdom and would have also been the site of Cham kings' interment.

The monument, which was designated by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage site, conserves seventy-one examples of destroyed stone and brick construction that date from the seventh to the thirteenth centuries. As you gradually visit each relic, your tour guide will explain to you all the cultural, historical, and architectural values. Before departing the temple, the tour is enhanced by taking in the traditional Champa dance performance.

After taking pictures of the fisherman near the shore, drive down the coast to the old capital of Hue. Stop at the summit of Hai Van Pass to take in the amazing ocean vista.

When you arrive in Hue, have lunch and then travel to Thien Mu Pagoda, which is among the city's oldest pagodas and dates back to 1601. This is the city's spiritual high point and is well-known for its imposing octagon tower and breathtaking Perfume River outlook.

Continue your tour See the most significant locations in the city, including the Hue Citadel, the only remaining reminder of Vietnam's former imperial capital. It draws inspiration from Vauban's fortifications. The city is divided into three sections: the Forbidden City (Cam Thanh), the Imperial City (Hoang Thanh), and the Capital City (Kinh Thanh).
