Independence palace, walking tour, Binh Tay market, China town, Quan Am pagoda and Fito Museum of traditional medicine

9:00 AM: Start your day by departing from your hotel and making your way to the Independence Palace. This historic site was once the residence and office of South Vietnam's presidents and famously marked the end of the Vietnam War in 1975 when a North Vietnamese tank stormed its gates. Explore the five-story building, where rooms remain preserved in the style of the late 1960s and early 1970s, and delve into the depths of its bunker.
Next, embark on a leisurely stroll to the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, an architectural gem built between 1863 and 1880. This beautiful cathedral showcases the charm of French colonial design, making it a delightful spot to soak in the city’s history.

Continue your walk a few blocks to Nguyen Hue Walking Street, where you'll find the iconic Saigon Central Post Office, a masterpiece designed by Gustave Eiffel. Admire its stunning interior while enjoying the fact that this elegant building still serves as a functioning post office.

Afterward, you'll be picked up and driven to Binh Tay Market, the largest market in the city. Located in the heart of Saigon's Chinatown, this bustling marketplace is home to countless vendors offering a vibrant array of food, clothing, and souvenirs. Be sure to visit the food court to sample some delicious street food and local specialties.

Your next stop is Quan Am Pagoda, one of the city’s oldest temples, dedicated to Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. Here, you’ll immerse yourself in the rich Taoist traditions and the folklore surrounding the “Queen of Heaven.”

Wrap up your day at the Traditional Medicine Museum (FITO), where you'll encounter fascinating ancient tools, mystical potions, and herbal remedies. This unique museum offers insight into the history of traditional medicine in Vietnam.

As your day comes to a close, your driver will escort you back to your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Saigon’s rich history and vibrant culture.

Special excursion to Cu Chi tunnels and then visiting Cao Dai temple
At 8:00 AM, depart from your hotel to explore a pivotal site in Vietnam War history, the Cu Chi Tunnels.

Cu Chi represents a sprawling underground complex, featuring an extensive network of tunnels spanning over 250km. It served as a strategic base for the Viet Cong's resistance against American troops. These tunnels were meticulously excavated over a twenty-year period using rudimentary tools such as pickaxes and shovels. The tour includes a special opportunity to venture into selected sections of the tunnels. Additionally, you will visit the Ben Duoc memorial temple, a quieter and less visited site erected in 1993 to commemorate those who lost their lives at Cu Chi.

Proceed to explore one of Vietnam's most revered sites - the Cao Dai Temple. Caodaism, a distinctively Vietnamese religion, blends elements from Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and even Roman Catholicism. During your visit, you have the opportunity to participate in the midday mass.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in the afternoon.

Continue sailing through canals to Nhon Thanh Village, where you can sample fresh fruits.
Take a bike ride (or Tuk tuk) along scenic paths winding through villages, coconut groves, rice fields, and vegetable gardens. Enjoy a lunch featuring elephant ear fish in the village.
